The Transformation Story
A kitchen and bathroom renovation in a Sydney CBD high-rise apartment. The project required complete coordination with building management, strict adherence to strata requirements, and careful logistics management given the constraints of working in a busy city building with limited access windows.
The Brief
This was a complete kitchen and bathroom renovation in a Sydney CBD high-rise. The apartment needed a full update to bring it up to modern standards. Like all CBD high-rise work, this project came with its own set of challenges - strict strata regulations, service lift bookings, limited working hours, and coordinating deliveries in a building with no storage. We've done plenty of these jobs, so we knew exactly what to expect.

Kitchen
The new kitchen is a clean, U-shaped design that makes the most of the available space. We installed white cabinetry with soft-close mechanisms throughout - a small detail that makes a big difference in daily use. The integrated cooktop sits beneath a quality rangehood, with the microwave built into the cabinetry for a streamlined look.
Stone benchtops provide a durable work surface, and the sink area was positioned for good natural light. The overhead shot shows how the layout flows - everything within easy reach, with enough bench space to actually prepare a meal. No wasted corners, no dead spots.

Bathroom
The bathroom got the full treatment. The freestanding bath is the centrepiece - positioned against the back wall with a floor-mounted mixer for clean lines. Next to it, a walk-in shower with frameless glass screen keeps the room feeling open.
The vanity features a stone benchtop and quality basin, with a back-lit oval LED mirror above. It's the kind of detail that lifts the whole room. Large-format tiles throughout keep grout lines to a minimum - easier to clean, looks sharper. Behind the finishes, proper waterproofing to Australian Standards ensures everything stays dry where it should.

CBD High-Rise Expertise
Working in a CBD high-rise isn't like renovating a standalone house. Every delivery needs to be coordinated with the building - service lift bookings, loading dock access, waste removal schedules. Noise restrictions mean you can't just work whenever you want. Strata requires detailed documentation before you even start. We've been doing this long enough to have systems in place. Materials arrive in staged batches so we're not storing anything in common areas. All trades know the building rules before they step on site. The result is a project that runs smoothly, finishes on time, and doesn't create headaches for the building manager or the neighbours. This apartment now has a modern, functional kitchen and a properly finished bathroom - everything the owners needed without the chaos that can come with CBD renovation work.
Frequently Asked Questions about Sydney CBD Renovations
What makes renovating in a CBD high-rise more complicated than a house?
Access restrictions are the main factor. Materials can only arrive via service lift during allocated time slots - often shared with other residents. Working hours are typically limited to 8am-5pm weekdays. Noise-generating work may be further restricted. Waste removal requires booking skip bins or builder's lifts. There is no driveway to store materials, so deliveries must be precisely timed to match the work schedule.
